Geneva Day 1

131209
Geneva 7am
(Here's 7 hrs behind our time)
My luggage was misplaced at arrival, we got stuck at the belts for almost an hr before I saw the faint sight of my luggage. I was so scared to go w/o my stuff for a week tour!!
I thank God for it to be located anyhow (but apparently forgotten to continue praying for the safety of my luggage)...
---
From of my hotel room...
I can't even remember which level I was at already,
*(#!^%#** whoever's responisble for the delay of my luggage back.
I'll try very hard to recall all the tiny details that wasn't captured into images...
After approximately 13 hrs of flight from SG- London Heathrow, then a right-away transit to Geneva (another 1++ hrs)...
I'm finally here!

What appears to be looking like rain drops are actually snow flakes!
I was so happy that I get to see snow on my very 1st moment in Geneva!

Hotel Warwick
4 star rating & a really not too spacious room...
Oh well, I can't complain since it's picked & paid by B's company.
He's here for business & I just tag along for holidays =)
---
After unpacking and washing up a little,
B kicked my ass out of the bed & pushed me to get ready to
embark on our journey to explore the town.
We checked with the concierge for tourists attractions
and he strongly recommended us to visit a beautiful lake but was closed due to the the weather. Then he suggested that we can do some X'mas shopping for 4-5 hours at blah blah blah.
I had a hard time understanding his English.
Their native language is French or Dutch and most of them can't speak good English.
Fortunately B manage to comprehend his English perfectly!
The next obstacle is to locate the train station & get our tickets.
Some issue came up when the ticket seller do not get where I wanna head to,
& likewise I don't know how to communicate with him.
B had to work his magic, again...

Where we were sitting was very empty & quiet...
After a few minutes on the train we found out that passengers are allowed to eat/drink on the vehicle. B was complaining that we should have bought some chips to munch.
Since there's nothing to do for the 45min ride, we decide to cam-whore...

Takin self photos while enjoying the scenery...

Check out the surroundings & other stations...

Lunch

After dropping off from the train, B & I were feeling famished.
We walked into the 1st store that sells edible stuff!

Here we are, filling out stomachs & getting satisfaction....

Start of the journey!!!
B decides that we should follow the crowd,
hoping that they are going to the X'mas bazaar that we are locating....

Heard of moneky see, monkey do?
But the "monkeys" led us to where we want.
So, who cares right?

Checking out the monkeys again, see what they drink/eat...
and then try everything, too!
I love the hot red wine (Vin Chaud),
whereby the local mixes red wine with sugar, cinnamon & other spices.
It was really yummy & addictive!
We also see that they love eating roasted chestnuts.
Our local ones taste better, still...!

It's very similar to our local pasar malam,
of cos' the experience is entirely different cos' it was snowing.
I can feel the snow flakes melting on my head & face!

It was beautiful to see real snow!!!
I should consider getting a professional camera, cos' mine can't capture a single snow flake!
Never stand near the waters if you have a weak heart.
The winds was sooooo cold, I was soooooooooo frozen!

Some street performances...

Isn't it a beautiful tree?

Feeding the birds...
We ask a couple to help us take a couple shot since most of the photos so far are taken individually, then we realises they are from Singapore too.
I felt real happy upon hearing it. I don't know why...
It has gone kind emotional for me...

After a long walk, we saw that we are heading towards the casino & it didn't interest us..
So we made a turn somewhere & found some shopping
& more tents selling food and non-edible stuff...
We had waffles from one of the tents & it tasted miraculously yummy!!!
We finished it so fast that I didn't even thought of stopping for a sec to photographed it down!

X'mas a really a big thing in European countries.
Imagine photo frames, jewelleries, clothes, etc etc.
The tents and push carts sell all sorts of things,
also same stuff that we can find in Bangkok but 10x or more the pricing...
I couldn't bring myself to purchase anything tho.

I told Santa I wanted 3 wishes....
All he did was sit still & took a photo with me.

Playing Cooking Mama in real life?

Xris stays in a snow covered wood cottage!

& has pengguins as her playmates...

Hi Polar...
How can you guys live in a glass box?

It's only 7pm & the skies are dark.
There's nothing else to see in the area + I was tired...
That's all for Day 1!!
