Asian time

It's a term that has been generally tagged to Asian cos we like to take our own sweet time and are always late for appointments, meetings, events, weddings, etc. So moral of the story is, don't be late. And i hate latecomers. Is it that hard to be on time?

Anyways... ...

Today's interview was pretty smooth for me, managed to get pass all rounds except the last, which was pushed back & scheduled on Friday afternoon instead.

In a way, I thought the whole process is pretty alike to UATO experience.

Preliminary checks:
Height and weight measurements. Filling up application forms. Queue and wait.

Round 1: 1st impression; 60sec self-introduction with other 10 interviewee with a panel of judges.
We've been trained to do a minute self introduction 10,000 times already. The only difference is I'm speaking in English this time (Thank God). Thanks to Genecia and Jensen, I know how better to protray myself and speak up with confidence.

The panel of judges decides who's in and out in 5minutes, & only half the batch (5-6pax) is left.

Educational qualifications:
IDs, certificates checks, pretty much self explainary.

Round 2: Appearance screening
We were asked to put on the uniform, bun up our hair and do a short walk. This is easy, just like costume fitting and catwalk to me. The only problem is that the sizes don't really fit, the smaller sized ones are taken, but it's okay, lah.

Next we had to stand infront of spot lights to check for scars and skin tone color. When the light shone on me, i felt dizzy, just like whenever I was on stage. We still had to answer questions when the lights are on. Phew, I tried my best to stay calm and I think i managed to pull through.

Cos', I'm the only person who get pass and move on.

Round 3: Q&A (1 to 1 session)
I guessed I was lucky to get Miss Chew. My previous interviewer keeps joking saying she's nice as long as i'm nice to her. Then again, Miss Chew isn't that "easy-going" while interviewing me. But she also teased me when i stepped out of the room and had to wait outside for results, saying I failed miserably. I was puzzled and didn't believed her as I was sure that I answered questions eloquently. And true enough, i was right being confident of myself.

Aiyah! If i can answer 独尊45秒 infront of national TV, I guessed this is a piece of cake. LOL! I was just kidding, cos' the questions aren't easy to me. I didn't prepare myself for the interview. Ha!

Some of the questions are:
1. Why do you want/have to be a flight stewardess?
2. What do you have to contribute to the company?
3. Is there any room for improvements for the current flights?

Oh yah, before i forgets! We are asked to do a page reading aloud, just like primary/ secondary school examination! So funny!

Round 4: To be continued...
I started the whole process at 2.45pm, by the time i hit round 4, it's already almost 5pm. If i were to stay & wait for the last round, it can easily be at 10pm, so they decided to push the interview till Friday, at SIA training centre (so far can?!).

Actually, I have not really decided if this is something i want to do.

Oh well, i'm keeping my fingers crossed. =)

Goodnights,
Xris-

Christalle, u remember what u told me b4, u said u going for SIA interview, so since u had go for thhe interview, so u try cherish the chance.. Cos I think if u work for this job, u can see alot ppl. And u can know more friends, u also have a chance to see the world, while u having a stop at some country..

If I was u, I will catch all the chance, I had on my hands. I won't let it go.. Cos I know that, in our life, there is always only 1 chance, if we miss the chance, we dun know whether got the chance again or not? Or maybe we let it off from our hands. Then, when we let go, we will 后悔。So, dun stay any 后悔bring along in our life.. Remember that.. My friend..Ok..

hmm.. i wont encourage or discourage. it's really up to ur preferences.

it can be fun and good experience to know more ppl and see more things, but seeing more things doesnt have to be air stewardess (it wad u applied for right?)

ask urself, will u enjoy serving ppl? every now and then u gotta fly? doesnt really have a choice to choose when u wanna stay at home?

haha. in the end, just go for wad u would love and really wish to be there. not just the fun and experiences (u can get the same fun n experiences elsewhere too)

hahahhaa i wont mind having a Kong Jie as friend. =D
