I thought i'm going to have (normal) lunch just with a couple of the girls...
Till they surprises me with birthday cake!

It was really touching...
To see that, Eileen look more excited than me with the candles!
Hahaha!

I actually felt embarassed to make a wish, blow the candles & then cut the cake.
Perhaps I'm getting too old already? Nope, I'm just paiseh people are looking...
Heheehee...

Oh yah, JC bought ice cream cake...
So I had to use ALL my force to try to cut the frozen ice cream inside...

Failed attempt...

Oh yes, it's yummy!

Amara Hotel
It will be my 2nd time & the last time there on my own accord.

I've been anticipating about dinner since early morning!
DD promised to bring me here for my bday!
I love the food that's why I wanted to have it for my big day...

Are you drooling already?
(Thinking of going there to taste their food? Hang on a sec...!)
.
.
The place is cozy & I love the tasty, delicious array of korean specialities. 1 thing that I hate was the terrible service. Super brainless waitresses. They hired DUMB waitresses who totally spoil my good mood. And, it'my birthday, lah! F***king disappointed & upset, loh!
.
I ordered a spicy clam soup but somehow they serve the non-spicy version. When I ask to change the soup, the waitress says the non-spicy soup tasted better. I was thinking like WTH, stop giving me STUPID excuses for ya own mistake.
.
I was fumming by then. If that's really the case, why didn't she tell me when I make my order?
I felt so cheated!
.
Obviously, she was trying to deny her own mistake & refuse to change the soup for me, right Anyways, I asked to speak to their manager... After waiting for 5 minutes, the receptionist came to me and she couldn't understand English. Trust me, I was so ready to throw all the plates & bowls on the floor to create a damn ugly scene. The manager came promptly when my face couldn't hide my anger & frustrations. The manager wasn't that smart too, her only solution was to change my soup. It was too late by then. I've lost all my appetite. Who on Earth after throwing a tanthrum would feel like eating still? DD couldn't continue eating either. He thought I was over-reacting. I might be. Nevertheless, it was their fauly & as a customer, I think I have all the right to demand for a change of dish or simple apology from the waitress, & not just the incompetent manager who can do nothing but look apologetic from afar.
.
Thinking and looking back at the incident. I would not go back to the restuarant. And I advise YOU who are reading this, there are better & cheaper alternatives to them. Don't bother going for yummy food with potentialy dumb asses who will give you wrong orders & kill your appetite. You will end up paying for the expensive meal without a satisfied tummy.

Home

Another gift from DD...

I look a little weird here cos' alcohol was still running...
We dropped by Gallery Bar for a few drinks before heading home...

K lah, enough of my grumbling...
I had a pretty decent and good celebration for this year's birthday.
Hopefully next year will be better.
And I will go dine at a restuarant whereby I'm a regular,
so I can expect good service and I'll be well taken care of.
